let's get into it shall we?
Some weeks ago, I made a tweet announcing that I had successfully passed my AWS CCP and surprisingly the tweet got a lot of likes and I got an overwhelming amount of DMs from people all over the world wanting to know how I passed the exam, so I decided to write a guide for others to follow.
Exam Overview
The AWS Cloud Certified Exam is the first step for anyone looking to get into Cloud Computing, this certification demonstrates a foundational understanding of Cloud principles, AWS Services, and other aspects of the Infrastructure as a Service platform that AWS offers, including billing, pricing, and security.
The exam specifications:
- 65 multiple-choice, multiple-answer questions.
- It costs $100.
- You have 90 minutes to complete the exam.
- The passing score is 700/1000.
Preparation
It took 3 days of 10-15 hours of study each day to achieve this certification, The first thing I did was to take the Cloud Practioner Essentials course on the AWS Skill Builder. It is a 6-hour comprehensive course which explains in detail the basics of Cloud Computing, the fundamentals of AWS Cloud including the core services, billing and support. When I was done with the course, I started to feel comfortable about taking the exam. I think it's worthy of note that I took notes while taking the course as it is easier to go back to.
The next thing I did was to read the AWS Whitepaper. This was an extremely detailed overview of the various AWS services that make up the AWS cloud. It is more comprehensive and in-depth compared to the course on the AWS Skill Builder.
Lastly, I practiced AWS sample questions, this really helped to solidify my knowledge about AWS concepts.
Conclusion
Getting this certification was no easy feat, learning more about AWS, and Cloud Computing, in general, was really insightful. Starting off with the AWS CCP is a great way to break into the industry. keep pressing on, you can do it!
